The Gdańsk Shakespeare Theater was established in a place where from the beginning of the 17th century the Fencing School building functioned – the first public theater of the then Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Currently, one of the most unusual theaters in the world is here, inspired by the old Elizabethan theater. The only theater in the world with an opening roof, which opens in just 3 minutes! The building, considered one of the largest architectural works of recent years, is covered with 1,200,000 anthracite bricks and brick paving stones, and its wooden interior takes viewers to the time of Shakespeare. As the only theater in Poland, he performs performances on the Elizabethan stage. It can accommodate up to 1000 guests, depending on the hall setting and type of event. The Shakespeare Theater is located in the immediate vicinity of the House of Scouts. Full repertoire and information about visiting on the website teatrszekspirowski.pl.
